COMMENTRAY: Hasbro Moving Faster Than Most On SRD Development

Commentary:

Note: At the date of the post my page DRAGON ADVENTURES is offline for server updates HTTP://WWW.ADVANCEDDUNGEONSANDDRAGONS.COM

After a few years development my game Dragon Adventures needs a whole new page now which I am loading on this site in menu format.

Content, Dragon Adventures is being re-written to account for inclusion off most Dungeons & Dragons content.

SRD5.2 On the new 2024 rules is backwards compatable, however Hasbro says content creators are responsible for their own compatability solutions.

For example, TSR versions are now Public Domain.

Hasbro version 3 to Present covered under mulitiple Creative Commons release format.

SRD3.5, SRD4 and SRD5.1, SRD5.2, D20 Format covers most rule system of all books.

For, example…

The Monster Beholder is Public Domain on TSR, avaialable on D20 and excuded from SRD Releases.

Third party creators must work around these restrictions.

The main point is even if the book is Public Domain you only get incuded in Hasbro Book Store pages by using SRD or D20.

Those are the restrictions on Hasbro Creative Commons.

Lord Of The Rings Hasbro RPG avaiable on D&D Beyond.

To use Lord Of The Rings Hasbro characters in Dungeons & Dragons TBD.

Lord Of The Rings now Public Domain along with Dungeons & Dragons titles on archive.org .

Why waste time writing only from Public Domain when writing in Creative Commons from Hasbro on expensive Dungeons & Dragons url names provides gaurantred web traffic free ads for Hasbro on your page.

If you see any Public Domain Dungeons & Dragons books normal release you are not allowed to use that content on SRD or D20 games.

Those original games must be independant pages and book releases.

At D&D Beyond most Campaign Setting manuals have been discontinued.

Manuals set in Forgotten Realms Campaign Settings still for sale but are only now listed as 2024 Compatable.

It’s pretty easy to see on the page the Adventure Modules with no rules updates have been listed as compatable while any book with rules expansions or Adventure Modules with alternate rules have been discontinued.

The new rules 2024 / SRD5.2 are only listed for new Adventure Modules and Campaign Settings printed after 2024.
